Meeza Wallet lets customers in Egypt pay from a mobile wallet on the Meeza network. Payrails processes Meeza Wallet through Paymob as the payment service provider (PSP).

How a Meeza Wallet payment works

Meeza Wallet is a hosted payment page (HPP) method:
  1. The customer selects Meeza Wallet at checkout.
  2. Payrails creates a payment intention with Paymob and returns a redirect URL to the Paymob checkout page.
  3. The customer confirms the payment from their mobile wallet on the Paymob page.
  4. Paymob sends the customer back to your returnInfo URL.
  5. Payrails receives the final result from the Paymob notification and updates the payment.
Each payment is single-use: the customer confirms every payment on its own. Payrails captures Meeza Wallet payments immediately, so a successful payment is final.

Supported currencies and countries

Meeza Wallet supports EGP (Egyptian pound) as its only presentment currency.

Supported workflows

Before you begin

Complete these steps before you send your first Meeza Wallet payment through Paymob:
  1. Set up a Paymob integration in your workspace. Contact your Payrails account team if Paymob isn’t listed in your Payrails Portal yet.
  2. In your Paymob dashboard, create a payment integration of type Mobile Wallet, and note its integration ID.
  3. In the Payrails Portal, go to Settings → Integrations, open your Paymob integration, and enter the Wallet Integration ID and your Paymob Public Key.
  4. Select Meeza Wallet under Payment methods, and save.
  5. Add Meeza Wallet as a payment option in your workflow.

Request fields for Paymob

Send these fields in the authorize request, in addition to the standard authorize fields. Payrails checks Required fields and returns an error when one is missing. Fields required by the PSP pass the Payrails checks but the PSP can decline the payment without them.

Authorize a Meeza Wallet payment

Call authorize a payment with meezaWallet as the paymentMethodCode and hpp as the integrationType. The response includes the redirect to the Paymob checkout page.
Authorize request
After the customer confirms the payment, Paymob returns them to your success or error URL. Confirm the result through webhook notifications or the execution status before you fulfill the order.

How Paymob handles Meeza Wallet

  • Payrails sends your merchantReference to Paymob as the special reference. Paymob rejects a reference it has already seen, so use a unique merchantReference for each payment.
  • Paymob processes only Meeza Wallet through Payrails. Payrails rejects card payments sent to a Paymob integration.
  • Payrails can’t cancel a Meeza Wallet payment through Paymob.
  • Paymob sends the final result in a notification. Payrails records the payment method that Paymob reports in that notification.
