WafaCash is a cash payment network in Morocco. Customers get a payment reference at checkout and pay it at a WafaCash agency. Payrails processes WafaCash through dLocal as the payment service provider (PSP). Open the dLocal guide below for its setup steps and request examples.

How a WafaCash payment works

WafaCash is a cash voucher payment method:
  1. The customer selects WafaCash at checkout.
  2. Payrails returns a redirect URL from dLocal, and the customer goes to a dLocal-hosted page with the payment details.
  3. The customer pays the amount at a WafaCash agency.
  4. dLocal reports the payment to Payrails when the customer pays.
  5. Payrails updates the payment with the final result.
Each payment is single-use: the customer confirms every payment on its own. Payrails captures WafaCash payments immediately, so a successful payment is final. To return funds, refund the payment.

Supported currencies and countries

WafaCash supports MAD (Moroccan dirham) as its only presentment currency.

Integrate WafaCash

The dLocal guide covers the setup in dLocal and in Payrails, plus the request fields dLocal requires.

Ways to integrate WafaCash

  • Payrails SDK: the Web SDK shows WafaCash when your workflow returns it as a payment option, and redirects the customer to the dLocal payment page. To control how the redirect opens, listen for the actionRequired event.
  • Payrails API: call lookup payment options, then authorize with wafaCashWallet as the paymentMethodCode. The dLocal guide lists the meta fields dLocal requires.
In both cases, confirm the final result through webhook notifications or the execution status. Don’t treat the customer’s return to your success URL as proof of payment.
