Accept WebPay payments from customers in Chile with Transbank as the payment service provider (PSP). The customer selects WebPay, pays with their card on the Transbank WebPay Plus page and returns to your site.

Supported workflows

Before you begin

Complete these steps before you send your first WebPay payment through Transbank:
  1. Set up a Transbank integration in your workspace. Follow the Transbank integration setup guide if you don’t have one yet.
  2. In the Payrails Portal, go to Settings → Integrations, open your Transbank integration, select WebPay under Payment methods, and save.
  3. To capture payments later, ask Transbank for a commerce code set up for deferred capture, and turn on Manual capture enabled on your Transbank integration.
  4. Add WebPay as a payment option in your workflow.

Request fields for Transbank

Transbank needs no meta fields for WebPay. Send the standard authorize fields. Payrails checks Required fields and returns an error when one is missing. Payrails sends no customer or order details to Transbank. It builds the Transbank order number from the Payrails payment ID.

Authorize a WebPay payment

Call authorize a payment with webPay as the paymentMethodCode. The response includes the redirect to the WebPay Plus page.
Authorize request
The redirect is a form POST to the WebPay Plus page with a token_ws parameter. After the customer pays, they return to your success or error URL. Confirm the result through webhook notifications or the execution status before you fulfill the order.

How Transbank handles WebPay

  • Transbank sends no notifications. Payrails confirms the payment with Transbank when the customer comes back from the WebPay Plus page. If the customer cancels on that page, Payrails marks the payment as canceled by the payer.
  • With a deferred-capture commerce code and Manual capture enabled, Payrails authorizes the payment, and you capture it later. Otherwise, Transbank captures the payment when the customer confirms it.
  • Cancel and refund both use the Transbank refund endpoint. Transbank reverses a payment that hasn’t settled yet in full, and refunds a settled payment against its balance.
