Alipay via Nuvei

Accept Alipay payments with Nuvei as the payment service provider (PSP). The customer selects Alipay, confirms the payment in Alipay, and returns to your site. Nuvei uses the alipay payment method code.

Supported workflows

Before you begin

Complete these steps before you send your first Alipay payment through Nuvei:

Set up a Nuvei integration in your workspace. Contact your Payrails account team if Nuvei isn’t listed in your Payrails Portal yet.
Ask Nuvei to enable Alipay on your Nuvei merchant account.
In the Payrails Portal, go to Settings → Integrations, open your Nuvei integration, select Alipay under Payment methods, and save.
Add Alipay as a payment option in your workflow.

Request fields for Nuvei

Send these fields in the authorize request, in addition to the standard authorize fields. Payrails checks Required fields and returns an error when one is missing. Fields required by the PSP pass the Payrails checks but the PSP can decline the payment without them.

`meta.customer.country.code`	Required	Sent to Nuvei as the billing country, for example `CN`.
`meta.clientContext.ipAddress`	Required	The customer’s IP address, sent to Nuvei as device details.
`meta.customer.name`, `meta.customer.lastName`	Recommended	Sent to Nuvei as the billing name.
`meta.customer.phone`	Optional	Sent to Nuvei as the billing phone number.
`meta.order.billingAddress`	Optional	Overrides the customer’s name, email, country and phone in the Nuvei billing address, and adds the street address.

Authorize an Alipay payment

Call authorize a payment with alipay as the paymentMethodCode. The response includes the redirect to Alipay.

After the customer confirms the payment, Alipay returns them to your success or error URL. Confirm the result through webhook notifications or the execution status before you fulfill the order.

How Nuvei handles Alipay

Alipay through Nuvei is single-use: the customer confirms every payment. Save Instruments and merchant-initiated transactions (MIT) aren’t available.
Payrails sends Alipay payments to Nuvei as sales, so Nuvei captures them immediately.
