Accept Amazon Pay payments with Stripe as the payment service provider (PSP). The customer selects Amazon Pay, confirms the payment with their Amazon account, and returns to your site.

Supported workflows

Before you begin

Complete these steps before you send your first Amazon Pay payment through Stripe:
  1. Set up a Stripe integration in your workspace. Follow the Stripe integration setup guide if you don’t have one yet.
  2. Turn on Amazon Pay in your Stripe Dashboard payment method settings.
  3. In the Payrails Portal, go to Settings → Integrations, open your Stripe integration, select Amazon Pay under Payment methods, and save.
  4. Add Amazon Pay as a payment option in your workflow, and set the capture mode you want.

Request fields for Stripe

Send these fields in the authorize request, in addition to the standard authorize fields. Required fields must be present for the payment to succeed. Payrails sends Optional fields to the PSP when you include them.

Authorize an Amazon Pay payment

Call authorize a payment with amazonPay as the paymentMethodCode. The response includes the redirect to Amazon.
Authorize request
After the customer confirms the payment, Amazon returns them to your success or error URL. Confirm the result through webhook notifications or the execution status before you fulfill the order.

How Stripe handles Amazon Pay

  • Payrails follows the capture mode of your workflow. With instant capture, Stripe captures the payment when the customer confirms it. With delayed capture, Stripe holds the authorization until you capture the payment or cancel it.
  • Send an amount greater than zero. Payrails checks the amount and the returnInfo URLs before calling Stripe.
  • Amazon Pay through Stripe supports customer-initiated transactions (CIT): the customer confirms every payment with their Amazon account.
